Letting go

This week I have been thinking a lot about the feeling of letting go and how nature does this so gracefully.

Autumn is a time of letting go. The dying of the leaves symbolises this feeling of endings. It’s a time of loss. But I’ve also been trying to see this as a way of creating space for something new.

Letting go rather than clinging on to things that are not meant to be.

There can be many reasons why we find it hard to let go. Pride, fear of loss, fear of the unknown, or just not stopping to think about whether we really need to keep fighting that fight.

I wanted to write a short piece of music around this, but it turned into more of a full song with lyrics. It’s also my expression of love for this feeling of seeing a morning sky whilst driving.

Hope you like the drive!

Journal prompts for letting go

If you want to journal on the theme of letting go, maybe these prompts from Libby Stevenson will help:-

“I create space for new beginnings”

“What am I ready to release so I can enter the next season lighter and freer?”
